Students starting Intermediate classes in Punjab this year will study from newly revised textbooks after the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PECTAA) introduced updated books under the National Curriculum of Pakistan.
According to PECTAA, the revised editions replace books that had been based on the 2002 curriculum. The latest versions include updated lessons and improved academic content designed to meet current educational standards.
Officials said the books have already been supplied to the market before the new academic session so that students can purchase the required editions without unnecessary delays. The move is expected to make the transition to the revised curriculum smoother for colleges and students across the province.
PECTAA Chief Executive Officer Syed Musa Raza said the updated books are part of the board’s ongoing efforts to modernize the education system and ensure that students learn from content aligned with Pakistan’s latest curriculum framework.
The board had previously introduced revised textbooks for other classes, and the latest release continues that curriculum reform process at the intermediate level.

Students are advised to confirm with their colleges or teachers that they are purchasing the latest PECTAA-approved textbooks. Using the updated editions will help ensure that classroom learning and examination preparation remain consistent with the revised syllabus for the 2026 academic session.
