Abstract<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Academics and practitioners have recognised the rapidly expanding field of research on human migration, vulnerability,and climate change. To investigate the relationship between climate change-induced human migration and its effects on urban areas, Bangladesh has been taken as a case study. This paper reviews current developments in climate change and urbanisation research in Bangladesh. Notably, the climate induced migration literature is somewhat stagnated in theorising the concepts of \u2018migration as adaptation\u2019 and investigating the causes, drivers, factors, and dynamics of decision-making about migration or displacements. The urban effects of massive migration in countries like Bangladesh have received no or little attention. Reviewing available literature,this paper claims that Bangladesh needs a systematic transformative territorial\/spatial planning approach to identify the weaknesses and strengths of particular regions as well as cities to deal with the impacts of climate-induced migration. It indicates that making resilient cities would be impossible without sufficient and simultaneous considerations of rural resilience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
