Abstract
This explanatory research dilates on the evolution of terrorism in Pakistan and how it impacts the national security of Pakistan. The paper explains various trends in the phenomenon of terrorism including extremism sponsored at the state level from 1947 to 1990s, the religious terrorism that emerged after the 9/11 in the shape of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, and the recent cycle of ethno-nationalist terrorism in Balochistan seeking separation from the state.
